Asia Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Forum

Adaptation and mitigation are two important issues that need immediate attention because of climate change. From 21st-22nd October, 2010 the Asia Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Forum will meet in Bangkok, Thailand to exchange ideas on mainstreaming adaptation to climate change into developmental planning in Asia and the Pacific. Parts of Thailand will submerge soon?

A recent report published in a South Asian daily predicted that parts of Thailand along the Gulf of Thailand would be hit by Tsunamis and that capital city Bangkok would be under water in less than seven years because of global warming. Besides Bangkok, places like the Samut Sakhon, Nonthaburi and Ayutthaya would be under seawater. This news is quite alarming!
